Coming from a military family, I’ve got some mad appreciation for people in the service. My grandparents served in the Army, my dad is retired Navy, and my sister is a Coast Guard Academy graduate currently in flight school. My sisters and I were taught to stand for the national anthem, thank men and women we knew had been in the service (like anonymously paying for their dinners), and relinquishing our seats for veterans. There are not many people I have more respect for.
